Can I have some free Proper stickers?
Please contact the Proper distributor in your country for free stickers. In the UK please send a stamped addressed envelope to IMG distribution clearly stating you require Proper stickers. If we don’t have any in stock we’ll keep your envelope until we do. If you decide to give your TTL a fancy custom paint job please don’t expect the stickers to replaced at our expense.
How can I get sponsored by Proper?
Most Proper sponsorship is handled by the distributor in your local country. As a rule we don’t sponsor anyone that asks…..if you’re good enough and you’d be a good fit for the team then the chances are we’ll notice you.
I lost the brake mounts/cable guides/gyro mounts from my TTL. Where can I get replacements?
We now offer a TTL frame kit consisting of each of the above plus a replacement sticker sheet that is available from Proper distributors worldwide.
My hub/wheel set “blew up”?
We have yet to see a spontaneously combusting wheel set. If by “blew up” you mean the bearings have perished after months/years of use then simply purchase replacements from your local bike shop/bearing supplier, or direct from your local Proper distributor. Bearings and axles have a limited lifespan and are not covered under warranty except within 30 days of purchase and subject to our discretion.
How can I stop my cassette hub “slipping”?
Slipping is caused by depressed pawls failing to return to their original position. This is usually as the result of too much grease in the driver – simply remove the grease and lubricate the driver with thinner grease or oil. If this fails to address the problem then replace the spring and pawls in your hub.
How can I stop my female/inbound cassette hub “slipping”?
There is another type of slipping whereby the hub is slipping in your drop outs. The female hubs have a 4mm shim. If the drop outs on you frame are 4mm or less (i.e. Mutiny Burlish and some SandM/Fit frames) you’ll need to use an additional 1mm washer inside your drop out.
Is female/inbound cassette hub suitable for peg use?
Under most circumstances a female axle will handle peg use with no problems, however, if you are particularly hard on rear hubs and/or prone to snapping regular axles then you may find a regular axle hub to be more appropriate.
How do I run pegs on a female/inbound Proper cassette hub?
Probably the easiest way is to use 10mm pegs and bolts with a 10-14mm spacer in the drop out. You can use 14mm pegs with a 10-14mm convertor as well.
Do Proper products come with any warranty?
Yes, however, the warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser so please keep hold of your receipts! Fames, forks, and handlebars are covered for two years against manufacturing defects such as cracks (not caused by dents) and snaps. We are aware that some manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, however, we believe it can be reasonably argued that any manufacturing error not discovered within the first two years of use are not manufacturing errors at all. Stripped threads and damage caused by over tightening are not covered under warranty. If your Proper product is now obsolete and has been replaced by a superior/more up-to-date version we may ask you to pay the difference in retail costs. If your Proper product has broken as a result of misuse or is out of warranty we may offer a crash replacement where you will be offered a suitable replacement at a discount. If you have any queries regarding warranty please contact Ben@IMGdistribution.co.uk.
Does your warranty extent to cosmetic defects?
If you find a cosmetic defect within 30 days of the original purchase date then please email Ben@IMGdistribution.co.uk to clarify if it is suitable for warranty. Cosmetic damage/wear caused by repetitive use is not covered.
Can I have some prizes for my forthcoming jam?
We receive numerous requests of this type each week and unfortunately we can’t help everyone. Please email with details of your event including how you intend to promote your event and what benefit this will bring to Proper.
How much is……?
We can’t tell you what you can expect to pay for any Proper product since we don’t sell direct to the public and prices will vary from one country and one dealer to the next.
Who owns Proper?
Proper is wholly owned by Carlo Griggs.
Can I can come and ride your ramps?
Sure you can but please call first to check that everything is dry and there is no construction ongoing. Please wear a helmet at all times and take your litter with you.
